2 Month Check-Up

Today was MG's 2 month check-up and shots. She got a really good report!

Weight: 10 lbs, 9 oz - 50% for her actual age
Height: 21" - 10% for her actual age

He said she is strong and looking good! He was really pleased with her weight gain and even said it was fine to go ahead and take her off the preemie formula we've been fortifying with for extra calories! We are going to start fortifying with a special reflux formula now. He also said to start letting her sleep on her tummy because she would be a lot more comfortable with the reflux that way. She's been gagging and choking at night which terrifies me!

He did say she was really congested - I guess she got my sinus issues. Poor girl!

The best news of all was that her PKU lab results finally came back. We had them done 3 times!! The first time in the NICU her results came back showing a problem. So they repeated them and it came back invalid! So we had them done again once we got home and have been waiting 6 weeks for the results! That is not a fun wait when you think something may be wrong with your child! But God is good and she is fine!

Overall, a really good check-up! She got her shots and we both held up pretty well! She cried pretty hard, but settled down quickly once they were over. I hated seeing her cry like that, but I guess after having your baby in NICU for 2 weeks and seeing them poked and prodded and hooked up to so many machines kind of thickens you! A couple shots was nothing!

So, unless she gets sick we won't be going back for 2 more months! Fingers crossed we don't see them until May!
