Look at Me...
MG is getting so strong! She is holding her head up for much longer and LOVES looking around!

weighs 10 lbs, 6 oz!!
MG has doubled her birth weight in only 8 weeks! I can't believe it. We weighed her once yesterday, weighed her again, then weighed her again this morning because we were sure the scale was wrong! My scrawny little preemie is now a chunk - complete with rolls on her legs, a double chin, chipmunk cheeks and a belly! And I LOVE it!

Epidural? Briefly - then they cut it off 2 hours before she was born
Who was in the delivery room? Just hubby (and a whole team of doctors, nurses, neonatologists...)
Was it an easy delivery? It was the polar opposite from an easy delivery!
Did you cry during labor? I didn't have the energy to cry - all the yelling took it out of me! lol

Molly Grace has been smiling for awhile now. But it's always in her sleep or while she's staring off into space. Usually if you talk to her, she quits smiling! But today, for the very first time, she smiled AT ME!! I was holding her and talking to her and she looked right at me and smiled the biggest, sweetest smile ever. My heart melted!

The creator of Zantac is my hero!
MG has been so fussy lately and obviously miserable. She quit wanting to eat, starting spitting up (and a few projectile vomits!), and just acting miserable during feedings. I was finally at my wits end yesterday afternoon and didn't want to go in to the weekend with her not eating so I called her ped. He said it sounded like Reflux and prescribed her some Zantac. The pharmacist told us that Zantac has a horrible taste and that most babies don't take it easily so I was dreading giving her her first dose last night. But of course, my weirdo child loves it! She drinks it like it's chocolate milk! lol
So...she had her first dose last night at 8pm, ate her bottle and slept for 3 full hours!! Then she ate a full bottle and slept another 3 full hours!! She did that all night and has done that all day! I can't believe the difference after only 2 doses so far. She's pleasant again, eating better and sleeping better!

Due Date
Today is my original due date! Since June 6, I have been looking forward to this day! While my eventful delivery and MG's 2 week stay in NICU were a nightmare, I am so glad that it's all over and she's here!
It's so crazy to think that she is laying in the floor, wide awake and playing when she should just be coming in to the world!

6 Weeks!
Molly Grace, you are 6 weeks old today! I can hardly believe it!
When we were trying so hard to get pregnant, time would drag by! Now that you're here and we want to savor every moment, time is flying by!
It's so funny to think that you still shouldn't even be born for 2 more days! You are doing so well and are right on track for all your developmental milestones according to your actual age - not even your adjusted age! That's awesome!
You are able to hold your head up for several seconds at a time now! When you're on your stomach or laying on our shoulders, you will lift your head up and look at us!
You are grabbing at things more and more. Today for the first time you grabbed one of the toys hanging on your playmat! You really love to hold onto Daddy's fingers while you sleep on his lap (and I think he likes it even more!).
You are learning to use your 'voice' (and your lungs!). You've definitely found your cry. You don't cry often, but when you do, you mean business! ha! You still do a LOT of grunting. Our bedroom sounds like a barnyard at night!
You love to sit upright and look around. If you are awake, you don't want to be laying down. It's so funny how you open and close your mouth and stick your tongue out while we're talking to you! It's like you're trying to talk back!
I'm still at home with you - and loving every minute! I wouldn't trade this time with you for anything in the world!

Happy 5 Weeks Molly Grace
Molly Grace...you are 5 weeks old today! Where has time gone? It's almost impossible to believe that 5 weeks ago you were born - 7 weeks too early, an hour and a half away from home, and began your 2 week stay in NICU. You've come so far baby girl!
You now weigh 7 lbs, 11 oz! I could hardly believe it when they weighed you today! That's over 2 lbs since you came home from the hospital! You are in the 10th percentile for babies your actual age. The doctor was very impressed because Preemies usually don't even make the charts yet! If we went by your adjusted age, you'd be even higher up!
You are now eating 75-80 ml every 2-3 hrs (around the clock!) no wonder you've gained so much weight!
You have discovered your tongue and it's usually hanging out of your mouth these days!
You love to grab and touch things. You think it's so funny! You pulled Mommy's hair for the first time yesterday!
You are one very loved little girl!

Wonder What She Weighs...
Today was supposed to be MG's one month check-up, but we had to reschedule because I didn't want to get her out on the roads if I didn't have to. They're still kind of bad in some places. So, now we have to wait until Wednesday to see what she weighs! I can't wait to see! I am guessing 7 lbs...
