Molly Grace, you are 4 months old today and I can't believe it! 4 months ago our lives changed forever. We will never be the same! You are our heart, our smiles, our happiness...our everything! When I look at you, I see God's greatest miracle. I remember looking down at you in your isolette in the NICU and knowing that very first moment that you were strong and a fighter! You showed us early on that you had just enough sass, just enough attitude and a whole lot of spunk! Your personality continues to develop so much every single day. Every moment is new and exciting with you. I am so thankful for you. My hope is that one day you will look back at all my writings and know how much you are wanted, loved, and adored!
Tuesday you have to go for your 4 month check-up and shots (sorry!) so we'll have your official stats then!
But for now, here's what you're up to at 4 months:
You weigh 13 lbs, 13 oz!
You wear some 0-3 months clothing, but mostly 3-6 months!
You are in size 1 diapers.
You are eating 5-7 oz every 3 hours.
You still sleep in our bedroom - and we love you there! Sometimes you get in bed with us around 3 am!
You eat your bedtime bottle between 7 and 8pm and sleep until 5am! You wiggle and squirm all night long, but you don't wake up!
You are never still - ever! You're constantly scooting, squirming, kicking or jumping! I don't know how you weigh what you do!
You have 2 little bald patches on both sides of your head from scooting all around on your belly while you're asleep!
You're finally starting to get the hang of "Peek-a-Boo". For the longest time you just looked at us like we were stupid!
You're still crazy about your Jumperoo.
You LOVE it outside. You love going to your cousins' ball games, too!

17 Weeks
Today, I have a 17 week old baby girl. Wow! It's been so fun to watch her grow and change every single day. When I look back at pictures, I hardly recognize that scrawny little thing we brought home from the hospital! ha! She's definitely come a long way. Friday will be MG's 4 month birthday! Mirror Mirror on the Wall
Molly Grace discovered her reflection today...and really liked it! lol She was kind of fussy so we were pacing the floor (like we so often do these days!) I stopped in front of the mirror in our foyer and she stopped crying and just stared at herself! So I stood her up on the table in front of it and let her look. She stared at it like "who is this person" then she'd laugh! We did this for a good 15 minutes! She cracks me up!

March for Babies
Today was the March of Dimes March for Babies. I posted earlier that we started a team in honor of Molly Grace, "Team Molly Grace". I was and am so honored to have a team for her. I never even gave a second thought to preemies and March of Dimes until December 2009! Now I will never forget!
The day was a lot of fun. It was really the first time MG had been in a big group of people and she met a lot of special people for the first time. Today was special not only because it was a celebration of her life and how far she's come as a preemie, but also because it was like her 'coming out'! She was passed around more times today that she has been in the entire last 4 months! I have to admit, it made me a little nervous, but I started praying about it 2 weeks ago and God didn't let me down! He gave me the peace to know that my worrying about germs would get us nowhere, I can't protect her from every germ, but trusting HIM to take care of her and keep her healthy is what I need to do!
We were under a tornado watch and severe thunderstorm warning all morning so the walk was moved to an inside auditorium. It was loud, crowded and lots of fun! MG did really well. She freaked out in the beginning. She doesn't care too much for loud noised anyway, and this place was LOUD! And there were so many people in such a tiny place. She clung to my shirt for dear life when we got there! But by the time we left she had relaxed and was having a good time. She only cried once, and of course it was during the singing of the National Anthem...the only time during the whole event that it was quiet! ha! That's my girl, the Drama Queen!

March for Babies
March for Babies is coming up on Saturday. They're calling for severe storms, so it's been moved from the park to an inside auditorium. Which means...no 3 mile walk!! I have to admit, I'm excited that I don't have to try and drag MG along for that long! But I'm so glad we're still having it.
Team Molly Grace raised $720 for March of Dimes!! I'm so excited, I can't believe it!! I'm so grateful to everyone who donated and bought shirts.
The shirts turned out super cute and even have MG's hand inside her Daddy's on the back!
She has a cute little outfit to wear, too! It says "They're walking for me!" I love it!

16 Weeks
I have a 16 week old - that's almost 4 months! Wow! The last 16 weeks of my life have been the most rewarding and fulfilling weeks of my life!
Molly Grace, you are growing so fast!
You now weigh 13 lbs, 8 oz! You are a chunky little monkey!
You are eating 6 oz every 3 hours. You sleep 9 hours at night, eat a little snack and sleep 4 more.
You've started having allergies! I feel so bad for you. You're always sneezing or coughing and your poor little nose is always stuffy. I keep Little Noses Saline Spray handy, but you hate it! You used to let me squirt it up your nose and never flinch. Now you fight me!
You have such a little personality now! You may look like your Daddy, but you act just like your Mommy! You are sassy as can be. You have this dramatic little cry when you want something. It's so funny! You can turn those tears on and off so quickly. And you definitely know how to throw a fit!
You talk up a storm now. You make the funniest faces when you're talking. It's so cute! I love to hear your voice.
You love attention. You will smile, laugh and talk whenver anyone pays attention to you. Yesterday we went shopping and 6 people stopped to look at you and tell me how beautiful you were! You were smiling and being such a little ham!
You're getting really good at entertaining yourself. You will stand in your jumper or sit in your bouncy chair for a few minutes at a time now.
You love reading books, especially books that make noises. Your favorite right now is a farm book that makes barnyard noises. We read it everyday!
You still will not roll over anymore! You did it about 5 times and refuse to do it now. I think you know if you lay your head down and cry pitifully we will turn you over! ha! You definitely know how to work us!
When you are on your belly now, you will pull yourself along. It's so funny to watch! You're really good at turning in circles. When we put you to bed at night your head is at the end, when you wake up in the morning you're laying sideways!
You love your paci, but you love to suck on your fist, too. Sometimes when you're in bed, we can hear you smacking on your fist from the living room! It makes your daddy and I laugh!
You make us smile and laugh a lot sweet Molly Grace! You are the most beautiful miracle God ever created!

Time Flies...
when you're having fun! 16 weeks ago, at this exact moment, I was at the hospital waiting on the ambulance to take us to Memphis, TN so we could welcome our little MG into the world! I was already dilated to a 2 when we got there. I was scared to death and still in shock! I don't remember many details from that night (or the next 2 weeks!), but I remember the fear. I will never forget the fear that comes along with having a preemie. God certainly blessed us, though!
Speaking of blessings, Team Molly Grace will be walking in the March for Babies this weekend. Our team has raised $605!!! I am shocked, amazed, overjoyed, thankful... and so many other emotions! People have been so generous. I'm so honored that so many people are helping to make a difference for future preemie parents all in Molly Grace's name!
Our team shirts are precious. I wanted a picture we took of MG's hand in Jamey's to be on the shirts, but they said they couldn't do that. But today I was shocked when I opened the picture they sent because there, on the back of our shirts, is my picture of their hands. 2 hands that mean the world to me. The 2 hands I want to hold for the rest of my life. 1 big hand that will always hold MG, and 1 tiny hand that will someday make a difference in this world (and has already made a difference in our world!).

Too Cute
About 3 years ago (2 years before I ever got pregnant!), when we were going through the long process of trying to conceive, I found the cutest little onesie at Goodys and bought it. It was pink and said "I heart Bald Guys". I couldn't pass it up. I wanted a baby so bad at that point, and I had faith that God would bless us with one. I also just knew I would have a girl! So I bought it. And for 3 years it has hung in my closet, with the tags on it! I stumbled on it the other day when I was cleaning out my closet and today I got to put it on my sweet baby girl! It was too cute on her!

Where's the Pause Button?
Molly Grace has been swatting at and reaching for toys (or hands, hair, paci, and anything else put within her reach!) for the past few weeks, but she's never reached over and grabbed something out of my hand...until tonight! MG was sitting in her bouncy seat and we were reading stories and letting her feel the soft pages, then I was holding up a rattle in front of her. She reached out, wrapped her little fingers around it and took it from me! I think it kind of surprised her because she just held it and looked at it with this confused stare for a minute! She held on to it for awhile and tried her hardest to get it in her mouth! She's learning and growing so much! Where's that 'pause' button?!
I've posted before about how much MG LOVES her jumper, she's crazy about it! But the parrot has been taunting her everytime she's in it! ha! She just stares it down. Today I raised her seat up to the next level so she was eye-level with it. She was so happy! She finally got ahold of one of his wings! Victory for MG! ha!

Teacher's Gifts
This week's "Show Us Your Life" topic over at Kelly's Korner is "Teacher's Gifts". I've only been a mom for 3 months, so I've never had to shop for teacher gifts, but I've been a teacher for a total of 9 years (daycare, preschool and kindergarten) and have received my fair share of gifts! Let me start by saying that every single gift is appreciated. I treasure them all because they come from little people I love so much!
Here are some of my favorite gifts I've received in the past:
1. ANYTHING handmade or handwritten. This year at Christmas a little girl who comes from a really sweet family, but doesn't have a lot, brought me a card she made. Her exact words were, "Mrs. T, my momma says we don't have no money to buy no presents so I made you this". Oh, melt me! That picture is hanging beside my desk and makes me smile everytime I look at it! I also have every card I have ever gotten from a parent or child. Sometimes it's just so nice to hear the words "thank you" or "you're making a difference"! There's nothing more valuable than that!
2. Initial Tumblers. LOVE these! They were one of the most creative gifts I've gotten. I had never seen them or knew I wanted them until I got some! These are the exact ones I have!
3. Cute Clipboards. I have one with my initial on it. It's so cute, so inexpensive and so practical. I use it daily!
4. Gift cards to anywhere and everywhere! I love getting giftcards. My favorites are to bookstores and teacher supply stores. But I also love Sonic cards (Happy Hour here I come!), Target...anywhere! Be creative!
5. Candles. This may be more of a personal preference since I am a candle lover! My favorites are Tyler Candles and Woodwicks. I love to keep my candle warmer with a good smelling candle on it in my classroom - especially on PE days! ha! If you've never smelled Tyler "Diva" or "24/7 Glam" you need to go find one and smell it!

15 weeks
I have a 15 week old...seriously?! That can't be right! In a way, though, it seems like she's been with us forever. I can hardly remember life without her! I'm not sure what Jamey and I ever did for entertainment before she came along!
Let's see what my 15 week old is up to these days...
My little Chunky Monkey weighs 13 lbs 2 oz! I was shocked when I saw that 13 flash on the scale! I find a new roll on her everyday! ha! She was definitely cursed with her mama's thighs, poor girl!
She is definitely a little squirmer. She can roll over from belly to back, but doesn't really have any interest in it. I'm pretty sure she knows that if she lays there long enough and whines, we'll turn her over!
She is still head over heels in love with her Rainforest Jumper. Sometimes she will just sit in it in a complete daze staring at the parrot! Other times I think she will absolutely bounce right out of the seat!
My little girl is definitely an outside girl! We've been sitting outside, grilling out in the evenings and she loves it! Sometimes she catches a short cat-nap in her stroller. Today I let her 'stand' in the grass. She wasn't sure about it at first, but then she kind of liked it!
The scrawny little girl who had to be fed with a tube is long gone! These days MG is eating 5-6 oz every 2.5 - 3 hrs! I still remember the day we were proud of her for eating 20 cc (not even 1 oz!). Still no formula - which makes me even more proud of her weight gain!
MG loves her beauty sleep! She has herself on a schedule and you don't mess with that! At 6 pm, she is ready to eat and go to bed! Miss that window of opportunity and you're in for some screaming! ha! She will eat, fight sleep awhile, then pass out until 3 am!
We still have MG sleeping in her pack-n-play in our room. I know we should probably put her in her own room, but neither one of us really wants to! I LOVE being able to look over at her whenever I wake up. I sure would get tired walking across the house to peak at her 50 times a night!
We have almost made it through cold/flu/RSV season! Her pediatrician says the greatest threat to her is through May. So maybe *fingers crossed* we will make it through! We have been so careful with her, but some things are out of our control - like crazy picture ladies...don't get me started on that story, though!

Bean Bags
I am a big fan of beanbags...I don't know what it is about them! They are, for the most part, ugly and uncomfortable! But I love them. One summer when J and I were newly married we bought 4 (yes, 4) beanbags at yardsales. I'm still not sure what possessed us! ha!

14 Weeks
I had to go back and count the weeks just to make sure I was right...I still can't believe my itty bitty girl is 14 weeks old! And of course, I'm a day late, as usual!
Molly Grace is 'talking' up a storm now! It seems like she makes a new sound every day. My very favorite time of the day with her is morning. I usually get her out of her bed and lay her beside me in our bed and we just talk! It's really great on weekends when her daddy gets to join us! I can't imagine a more perfect moment! She just smiles, laughs and talks up a storm. I can't wait to hear what her voice will sound like. I think she will be soft-spoken. We'll see!
Molly Grace has rolled over 3 more times this week! It's usually when I have her napping on the couch and she's done!
Molly Grace has a new love - her jumperoo. She loves to stand up while we hold her now, so the jumperoo is perfect! There's a parrot that hangs and she tries her hardest to get it! She will laugh and smile and jump - it's so cute! And best of all, she will actually stay in it for a few minutes. So far, it's the first thing I've found that will occupy her for any amount of time. She doesn't like the swing or her bouncy seat, she hates the Bumbo, and doesn't like to lay down on her play mat for very long.
Molly Grace is still sleeping one 7-8 hour stretch at night. It's so nice! By 6:00 pm she is ready to eat her dinner and go to bed! And she's always so happy to wake up.
She hit her 3 month growth spurt last week. I always know when she hits one because she will eat a TON for a couple days, then slack off and sleep a lot more. She's also a little crabby - but don't tell her I said so! ha!
I have 4 more weeks at home with her - I don't know how I'll ever go back to work!

Happy Easter
For 5 long years I dreamed of having a sweet little girl to dress up in a smocked dress and big pink bow on Easter morning. Well this morning that dream finally came true! And how sweet she is!
I couldn't wait to see how precious MG looked in her Easter dress! Today was her first day at church. We've kept her away from church the past 3 months becaue her pediatrician said that church was the worst place to take her and we probably shouldn't until summertime. But we couldn't miss out on Easter Sunday!
We got up extra early to get ready and still ended up almost being late! MG was in a mood this morning! She was pretty restless last night and kept waking up sneezing. This morning she did not want to eat and just cried. I was terrified she would be horrible in church, but she laid up on my shoulder and slept pretty much the entire time!
After church we headed to my parents house for lunch. They have a beautiful backyard so we took lots of pictures.
She's been a bear again tonight. Usually she eats around 6:30 or 7:00 and goes to sleep. Tonight she only ate a couple ounces at 6, fought sleep, we put her down and she woke up screaming. She cried the most pitiful cry for about 2 hours before finally taking a little more milk and going to sleep.
We had a wonderful Easter. Last year at Easter I never would have dreamed this year would be so wonderful. God has truly blessed us!

We Survived...
MG's first road trip! We headed out this morning to visit J's family. It's about a 2 1/2 hour drive and it's the first trip MG's been on. She did great in the car - slept the entire ride there and most of the way back. She never cried until the very end of the ride both ways when she was getting hungry.
This was a pretty big deal for MG. Since she was a preemie, we've been so careful about germs and going around lots of people. But we survived!
She was a crab-apple by the time we got home tonight. We don't have a set schedule, but she has set herself up on a pretty predictable routine throughout the day. I try to stick pretty close to it. I always plan trips out around her feeding and naps and make sure she has plenty of playtime. She doesn't handle being off her routine very well! She ate as soon as we got home, fussed and cried for a while, then finally just crashed!
Tomorrow we're attempting church for the first time. Wish us luck!

MG slept 10 hours last night!!! I woke up in a little bit of a panic when I looked at the clock and saw it was 5:30 am! I guess her big day really wore her out! We have another big day today!

Good Friday
And what a good one it was! MG slept 8 hours, ate, and slept 4 more! Yay! We were all well-rested when we woke up this morning!
Jamey was off today so we got to spend the whole day together and it was great! This morning I actually got to dust, vacuum, wash sheets and curtains AND I got to sit down and eat lunch. I haven't sat down to eat lunch in months! ha!
We took Sophie and MG over to Jamey's work to play. They have a couple acres fenced in so we've always taken the dogs over on Sundays to play fetch and just let them roam. Since we got rid of Izzy, we've tried extra hard to give Sophie more attention. She loves it over there and so do we. Today was the first time MG got to go with us. I put her in my homemade Moby Wrap and she was out like a light the entire time!
She's been in such a wonderful mood today (and really the past week). Her colic is definitely better. I'm glad to have my happy MG back! Tonight she played while we cooked dinner, napped while we ate, took a bath, drank her bottle and fell asleep - it couldn't have been an easier night!
Have I mentioned how much I love that little girl?! Tonight Jamey kept coming out of the kitchen every few minutes to kiss her. Finally he laughed and asked "can you tell a kid you love them too much?". I love the way he loves her!

We took Sophie and MG over to Jamey's work to play. They have a couple acres fenced in so we've always taken the dogs over on Sundays to play fetch and just let them roam. Since we got rid of Izzy, we've tried extra hard to give Sophie more attention. She loves it over there and so do we. Today was the first time MG got to go with us. I put her in my homemade Moby Wrap and she was out like a light the entire time!
She's been in such a wonderful mood today (and really the past week). Her colic is definitely better. I'm glad to have my happy MG back! Tonight she played while we cooked dinner, napped while we ate, took a bath, drank her bottle and fell asleep - it couldn't have been an easier night!
Have I mentioned how much I love that little girl?! Tonight Jamey kept coming out of the kitchen every few minutes to kiss her. Finally he laughed and asked "can you tell a kid you love them too much?". I love the way he loves her!
