Kindergarten

Somehow while I wasn't looking, it happened! My baby grew up into a big kid! Tomorrow starts a brand new journey for us. Her clothes are laid out, her lunch is packed, supplies are bought. Everything's ready...except for her Momma! It's such a bittersweet time. I'm excited for her new adventures. I can't wait to see her grow and learn. I have so many hopes and wishes for her this year. But...the other part of me wants to hold her longer. I want to keep her my baby. I don't want to send her off and entrust her to someone else. She's going to be exposed to things that I don't want her to hear or see or feel. There will be mean kids, there will be disappointments, there will be failures. I hope and pray that I've given her the foundation she needs to deal with all of that. I hope that I've shown her to lean on God and trust in Him.

MG is such a ball of mixed emotions right now, too. She's gone back and forth all week with being so excited and smiling so big to acting out and crying because she's scared. I see the struggle in her. She wants to do things, wants to be excited, but the fear takes over. Every Saturday she's so excited for Sunday School. She's brave and confident until we get to the top of the stairs, then she's scared. But once she gets over the anxiety of us leaving, she remembers that it's fun and she loves it. When we pick her up she's always smiling and had a great time. I just wish I could take away her panic, her fear. We've prayed over a verse all week "Be strong and courageous. Do not tremble or be dismayed for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go." I hope she feels that peace. She's scared she won't make friends. She's scared she'll get tired. She's scared she'll miss me. It breaks my heart to hear her fears and see her scared. I just want to protect her from all of that forever!

So...ready or not here kindergarten comes!
