A Kindergartener and a 3 Month Old!

There's so much to write about that I don't even know where to start! I know I'll forget something! Molly Grace started Kindergarten 4 weeks ago. Her first week she only had to go 2 days, one was an all girl day and one was the whole class. We took her that first morning and stayed for Open House. She was a little timid and scared, but I was so proud of how brave she acted. She got a backpack tag the week before from Sunday School that had Joshua 1:19 on it: Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not tremble or be dismayed. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go. We prayed over that verse and repeated it over and over in the days and nights before school. And she was very strong and courageous, and she has been every morning since. She has 3 sweet friends in her class. We were very surprised to find her BFF from St. Marks in there on the first day, too! They moved over the summer and didn't realize they had changed districts. We're very happy that it worked out that way! It really helped ease MG in to know someone. That morning after Open House, all the kids lined up to go down to the Safe Shelter. She was a little clingy and teary, but didn't put up a fight. She walked out like a big girl. I heard there were some tears on the way down there, but the rest of the day she was great! I love working in her building because everyone keeps an eye on her for me. I don't even know how many texts and pictures I got that day of MG from so many people letting me know she was fine! The best news is that she came home that day in love with school and it's only gotten better since! I have seen changes in her that make me so proud. She has asked 2 little girls if they wanted to play and made 2 sweet friends out of it. She went from me having to walk her in and to her room everyday, to me having to walk her to the front doors and send her in tears to now I drop her off in the back car rider line! There are no tears, no hesitations, no insecurities. She gives me hugs and kisses then gets out of the car! She speaks to whoever speaks to her and walks in like a big girl. It makes me so proud, but also breaks my heart because she looks so big! She's growing up too fast. She loves center time and recess (of course!). Her favorite special classes are PE and Computer. She likes to get a tray from the cafeteria instead of bringing her lunch. She had her first playdate. She went home from school with her friend Lucy and I picked her up later. Now she wants to sign up for a PeeWee Cheer Clinic at the high school next week! My baby girl is gone and in her place is a big, brave, girl!

Now on to the 3 month old! I can't believe she's already 3 months! My time at home with her is almost over and I'm not sure how I feel about that! Part of me is really ready to get back to work and be with other adults! But part of me wants to sit in this rocking chair and rock my baby all day everyday until she's too big to rock anymore! Ha! We've had a very low-key 3 months together. We don't get out much. We just rock, play, and eat at home! She's a really good baby these days. If she's crying it's because she's tired or hungry or has the occasional belly ache. She loves bath time! I've been just putting her in the tub with me and she has the best time. She kicks and smiles. She loves to lay her head back in the water and just relax. We went to the dr last week because she has reflux and we needed some meds (which have made a huge difference, by the way!) and she weighed in at 12 lbs, 5 oz! She was a happy girl and showed out for the dr.! She smiled and laughed and had a good time! She's not a fan of sleeping for long periods! She's more of a cat-napper. Even at night, unfortunately! She usually takes a bottle between 7:00 and 8:00, then sleeps a few hours and eats again. Then sleeps a few hours and eats again! She's more of an eater than a sleeper! She doesn't really like to let more than 4 hours go by without a bottle. We did get a 6 hour stretch in last night, but there was a lot of sticking the paci back in and shushing her! Oh well, she'll sleep one day and I'll miss those nighttime snuggles!
